Watch the Masters
Posted by Jerry on Thursday, October 1st, 2009
While at the Parelli ranch in August participating in the Master Instructor Program one of the things that Pat talked about on several occasions was to watch the Masters and get to know what is world class. He also recommended we look on the internet for videos of World Class performances so that we could get it into our minds what is a top quality performance.
This video was sent to me by Ale G, a very accomplished dressage rider herself. It’s of Edward Gal and Moorlands Totilas’ and their performance at the World Dressage Masters series in Hickstead, 2009. As we were watching this together later she commented ” If they perform like that at the Olympics they will take GOLD”.
Here is the winning event that broke the world record with a score of 89.40%.
Enjoy!
I am not an expert by any means but this is an inspiring performance and it’s definitely World Class.
Please return here and leave a comment.

I have seen that video before and watched it several times, and each time I get inspired all over again. This performance truly is beautiful and definitely world class. While I can dream, I know I will never accomplish something as inspiring as that performance but by setting my sights high and aiming for perfection, perhaps I can achieve excellence!

It reminded me that 20 years ago I had a dream of becoming an accomplished finesse rider but let it slip away, thinking I could never finance the dream. I may not have a $40,000 warmblood in the barn, but I feel inspired to push for that next level of savvy and refinement.

So, competitive horseman should always be reminded to ask the following question: Am I putting my goals or priniciples first? But, this performance looked beautiful! Rider and horse had impeccable communication. My heart raced and I felt a bit breathless.
